DIY: Guest Post – British Columbia Dog Treats

I was so excited when I received this email from my good friend, Renee, who shared her newest creation with me!
She even took a series of photos, to document her recipe invention — yippee!
Here’s her fun DIY recipe for everyone.

I was inspired to make dog treats this afternoon after reading the Hydrant’s blog. DIY treats are always fun to make for your little fur family but today I was limited on ingredients. I had some leftover baked sweet potato, peanut butter and oats. So, I put this recipe together and it turned out really well, rave reviews from the pups.

  • 1.25 cup oat flour (grind oats in food processor)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup egg whites

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix dry ingredients together. Mash sweet potato and add peanut butter and egg whites until mixture is combined.
Form small bite sized biscuits on a non stick cookie sheet.
Bake 10 minutes or until brown on bottoms.

~ Enjoy!
