Safari Camp:  March Break – (Kids 7 to 14 years old)

Through a partnership with Jungle Cat Wildlife Park, Pawsitively Pets is able to provide campers with a truly unique Safari Camp experience. Campers will have a once in a lifetime chance to work with a wide variety of animals. There are over 98 species at the zoo ranging from mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. This ranges from baby lion and tiger cubs, wolf cubs, lemurs, monkeys, birds of prey, ferrets, rabbits, skunk, fox, meerkat, snakes, and lizards just to name a few!

What an experience Safari Camp is – campers have the chance to spend a week working hard as zookeepers to ensure the comfort and well-being of the animals. This is NOT a “water-downed” or “make-believe” zoo-keeping position. This is the real thing! Campers do everything from watering, feeding, cage cleaning, behavioral enrichment projects and working hands on with the animals.

Safari Zoo Camp is ideal for campers that hope to pursue a career in animal care, welfare and/or conservation… or simply for those that love animals and the outdoors.

DogSled Camp:  Christmas Break – (Kids 8 to 14 years old)

The Pawsitively Pets Dogsled camp is provided in partnership with SiberSprint Racing Team.  SiberSprint is the 2009 World Dogsled Silver Medalist winner!

Each day is spent hands on with the dogs, learning all the basics of dog sledding.  Campers will learn everything from caring and harnessing the dogs to running the sleds.  Everyday campers will harness up and hit the track for a exciting dogsled ride.  Campers will be divided into age groups to learn how to care, harness and drive their own dog team.  There’s lots to learn in order to dogsled; campers will spend their days learning all about dogsleds, the lines and the other equipment that goes with running a team of dogs.  Most importantly campers will work with same dog team each day and provide them with all their care letting them bond with the dogs and get the most out of the program.  See the video below which features the dog sled camp on CTV.

Jennifer Ego – Founder

A camp counselor in her early years, and a life-long passion for pets and animals, led Jennifer Ego to a career working with animals.

Starting the registered charity seven years ago and working in the veterinary industry, Jennifer was committed to creating a camp that would provide kids with all the wonderful animal and pet connections that can be rewarding.

“What better way to put two passions together, my love of animals and my commitment to educate children on responsible pet ownership and the wonders of pets and animals”, she says. This small and wonderful idea has grown into an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and animals, and create a lifetime of memories.
